LOMBARD TRUSTEE ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR VILLAGE PRESIDENT
LOMBARD – Village of Lombard Trustee Anthony Puccio has officially launched his campaign for Village President. The current Village President has reached term limits and will not be seeking re-election. First elected in 2019 as Village Trustee, Anthony has worked to streamline municipal operations, increase transparency, and has helped Lombard become a respected Village providing exceptional value to its residents and businesses. Anthony has helped balance the village’s budget by bringing in new streams of revenue, stabilizing expenses, prioritized spending through implementing waterfall budgeting policies, and creating of new economic development tools that all lead to an upgrade in the village’s credit rating. Over the last 5 years, as Chairperson of Economic and Community Development, Anthony has brought in numerous new projects and helped the Village retain business through a new economic redevelopment program.
“I will be working hard to earn the support of our community and to continue the tradition of strong leadership exemplified by current Village President Keith Giagnorio.” Anthony stated. “I want to build upon our village’s success to make Lombard a flourishing village for decades to come. As Village President, I will put the needs of our community first by advocating for common sense development that maintains the charm of Lombard while growing our economy. I will fight to keep taxes and spending in check, prioritize investments in our public facilities, roads, stormwater management, and traffic management systems and make public safety a priority.”
Anthony Puccio has spent most of his life around municipal government as the child of a public servant, and as an employee in public works. Additionally, he focused his post-secondary education on government with an emphasis on the municipal level. He attended high school at Glenbard East and chose Lombard for his first home after college because of its close-knit atmosphere and all that it provides. Anthony has a strong desire to maintain this atmosphere and to keep Lombard a thriving community where people want to raise their families.
Anthony and his wife Jessica are the proud parents of Mark (6) and Rose (2). Anthony’s community involvement has varied from helping coach Lombard baseball to serving on local village committees.
